Because, The Barnabas Group
By Managing Partner Brian Dowd
8,000 Afghans arrived in Sacramento in 2022 when the United States evacuated them from fleeing the Taliban. In response, The Barnabas Group catalyzed a coalition of local ministries that launched NorCal Refuge as a crisis response initiative. Since then, NorCal Refuge has served over 3,038 Afghans, and a Farsi-speaking church has taken root. One Barnabas Partner who served on the NorCal Refuge executive team described the experience as one of the most meaningful things they’ve ever done.
This is what The Barnabas Group is all about—joining God in work that is both impactful and life-giving. We don’t just support ministries; we engage in transformational experiences alongside like-minded partners. The result? Eternal impact—not only for the ministries we serve but for our own lives as well.
The Virtuous Circle of Kingdom Impact
We’ve seen that when we say yes to God’s invitations, something profound happens:
God invites us to join Him in His work.
When we step in, we experience the Living God.
That experience transforms us.
We become even more ready to say yes to the next invitation.
This virtuous circle leads to deeper fulfillment and greater fruitfulness.
Looking Ahead: Our Three Key Objectives
As we step into this new season, we are focusing on three objectives:
1. Strengthen Engagement: Every Barnabas Partner Feeling Valued
We want every member to feel connected and empowered. This means more social gatherings, hands-on ministry opportunities, and intentional ways to recognize and leverage your unique gifts.
2. Cultivate a Kingdom Ecosystem: Collaboration in Action
For the first time ever, we are hosting a Kingdom Ecosystem Summit on March 27, 2025—a day for all Barnabas Partners and ministry leaders to come together, experience the power of God’s Kingdom in action, and forge new collaborations under one King.
3. Expand Our Community: Growing for Greater Impact
From day one, The Barnabas Group has been growing, and we believe a larger community means a stronger impact. By inviting more people into this movement, we expand our reach and Kingdom influence.
The Road Ahead
God is moving in extraordinary ways through The Barnabas Group, and that’s because of the extraordinary people who make up this community. Together, we will continue to step into God’s invitations, see lives transformed, and experience the joy of Kingdom impact.
Good things are ahead!
